報じられていない掃討作戦の成果

　armytimesによれば、バグダッド市内では銃声はほとんど聞こえず、あってもイラク兵が車両部隊を通すために空に向けて発砲したものだけだということです。市内は一見穏やかですが、誰もそれが掃討作戦の成果だとは信じていません。そんな中で爆弾テロは起きており、日曜日には56人が死亡し、130人が負傷しました。イラク多国籍軍のウェブサイトによると、成果は徐々にあがっているようです。なぜか開けないページが多く、タイトルしか見られない記事もあるのですが、15日以降のタイトルは次のようになっています。

　19日にテロ容疑者49人を拘束したのは大きな成果ですが、IEDは３個しか見つからなかったというのが少々気になります。49人の中にテロ容疑者がいるとしても、全員ではない可能性があると考えます。タイトルからは、15日以降少なくとも96人が拘束されたことが窺えますが、何人が本当の容疑者なのかは分かりません。逮捕者の数は報じられますが、捜査の結果、何人が釈放されたのかはいつも報じられません。

　armytimesは、タリク・アルハシミ副大統領は掃討作戦の詳細が武装勢力に漏れ、イラクの黄金のチャンスが不意になった、と述べたと書いています。アルハシミ副大統領は、当初から掃討作戦に不満を提示していました。私はイラク軍の準備が遅れていると聞いた辺りから、掃討作戦の先行きを心配しましたが、シーア派の軍幹部が意図的に準備を遅らせて、武装勢力が逃げる時間を稼いだのではないかと疑います。とにかく、もう少し情報が欲しいところです。
